Cast iron stoves are a classic symbol of New England, melting the chill off a snowy winter day. While old “parlor stoves” still heat many homes in central Massachusetts, today’s modern direct-vent and “vent-free” gas stoves represent a huge evolutionary leap toward reduced emissions, higher efficiency, and flexibility in location/placement that affords greater options in hearth design.

Enchanted Fireside offers high-performance gas and propane-burning stoves in classic cast iron, soapstone, and steel to accommodate and complement any décor. As “direct-vents”, these stoves can be places nearly anywhere in a home, and simply be vented to the outside without the need for a “to the roof” chimney.

Still, there’s a lot to consider when you choose to install a gas stove in your home. Is your challenge to heat a very large space, or is this for small zone heating? Is space at a premium, requiring a small footprint? Which location in your home will result in the best performance? Which stoves will really take the least amount of space – especially after observing clearances (minimum distances required to combustible materials) as tested by each manufacturer for each stove model?
